Audio recording with marantz.

I learnt how to set up the marantz audio recorder. I learnt how to create pre sets that allow me to change the set up in  seconds and also how to change the levels which adjust the recording quality. On the top of the marantz there are two male mic plugs, I used the mono plug as I was only using one mic, if i was to plug in two mics I would create a stereo recording.

Hotel interactive comic (http://www.hoteloscartangoecholima.com/splash.html)

Hotel is an on-line interactive comic, it is about a man that goes to a hospital and a twisted doctor manipulates his mind by giving him drugs.

Within the comic you reader can click on different elements and they will react. For example in the scene below, by clicking on the man at the table he will press the buttons on his phone and start talking.

The text in this comic is shown on the walls, which I think is a different but really good way of displaying the text.

Creating a flash file for iPhone (stage size)

To create a new stage in the correct dimensions for an iPhone I went to file, new, iPhone OS. By chose the stage size this all of the appropriate settings are already set.

Flash animation

This is the result of my first flash animation. To achieve this I did the following:
Placed a .jpg file on layer 1 to give myself a background.
  • Created a vector shape onto a new layer (layer 2)
  • Converted the shape into a movieClip and placed it into the symbol library (F8)
  • On layer 2 in the time line I created a new keyframe  (F6, with the frame selected)
  • Then finally right clicked in between the first keyframe and the newly created keyframe to create a classic tween.

By creating a classic tween the animation is not made up of unnecessary keyframes and runs smoother.

interactive comics research (www.dead-on-arrival.co.uk)

Dead on arrival is an interactive comic based around a self confessed murderer. The comic is flash based to enable it to have effects such as the realistic turning pages. The author has used speech bubbles to display the text and has used panning image shots to convey the presents of the characters.
